It’s a new calling for Elder Hansen. Elder Hansen was ordained fifty years ago, just prior to leaving for his 2 1/2 year mission in Denmark. At 20-years-old, his walk was a little faster, his glasses were deeply rose-colored, and his hair was a sunshine brown.
He set forth to conquer, committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ, always willing to do what was asked of him. Since then, he has continuously served a multitude of individuals in a variety of callings, and now he’s come full circle…he’s back to Elder Hansen.

As a welfare service missionary he works with Utah County’s homeless and transient population – a difficult, sad, needy portion of mankind surviving in an apparent place of abundance. White shirt. Tie. Service. Compassion. Helping others. Warmth burns within. Long days. He loves it.

Elder Hansen, you’ve always answered the call and I love you for it.
