The Merry Month of May

The Merry Month of May began with Courtnie's special day. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, enjoy the month not only via the camera, but through the eyes of proud grandparents.
Courtnie's "second" white dress. One more to go.
Group Picture!! Only part of the attendees stopped for a photo.
The kids were too busy being busy.
Drama Season Ends
The cast of "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" give their director,
a well-known SHS student and relative, a big hand.
Be ready!
Question: "Why do you wear black socks when you are on the White Sox team?"
(We love watching baseball in the spring.)
Three generations of super, wonderful, awesome MOTHERS posing for
a super, wonderful, awesome Mother's Day photo.
Merrell hangs out with some of the student employees
at the annual spring faculty party.
Connor's science project asks and then answers the question,
"Does viscosity impact pumping speed?"
What do you think?
Seminary Graduation
Oh, my!
Mom's not holding a diploma, but she deserves a lot of credit.
(I'm just enjoying the moment!)
The Fruits (flowers) of my Labors
I wish the yellow and purple flowers would last all summer. But...sigh...they don't.
My Happy Helper!
Drat! Where did this weed come from?
Connor's Piano Recital
Watch out Jon Schmidt, here comes Connor.
Art City Kindergarten Graduation
The audience loved the kazoo song, but several were
wondering if the tall boy with the dark hair was really
only six-years-old!

We're proud of you!
Hey, I'm proud of me, too. I can write my numbers and letters.
Preschool Graduation
Pretty exciting!
Smile Big
WooHoo! I graduated from preschool!

Isn’t a tradition something that you’ve done at least twice? If so, then we have a traditional fare for Memorial Day weekend. The day before Memorial Day, we (Mom, Carolyn, Merrell, Mary) visit the Mona, Burrville, and Richfield cemeteries, chatting and relaxing as we travel. I think Memorial Day is the pleasantest of holidays. It’s so low key. It doesn’t take days, weeks, or months of planning. Jump in the car, pick up snack food or drinks at the local convenience store, purchase a Subway or Arbys when really hungry, and move along! There's no fuss, decorating (except the graves, of course), all day cooking, shopping, gifts, games, or running up a VISA bill!

The next day, we visit the graves in Orem, and hang out with family – movie or picnic, or both! This year it was "Star Trek." Good movie.

Burrville Cemetery
My grandmother said she would come back and haunt us if we buried her in Burrville. She's buried here, but so far I have no knowledge of a haunting. It's a pretty desolate place, but in reality the town of Burrville has it's own special beauty and peace.
Richfield Cemetery
Orem Cemetery
All Cleaned and Decorated
Lindon Field Day
(The PTA president passes the baton -- and not a moment too soon)
Made It
Mini-marathon
Lindon Dance Festival
The 4th graders are thrilled to be dancing to "Thriller." Don't you think Ms Bybee and Tyren have the best moves?"

Scary Dancer
Straight A's! That deserves a hug.
Graduation
The end of the Merry Month of May!!!

MOM! This month's SUPER POST is awesome and makes me (once again) overwhelmed with gratitude at your constant involvement, support, and cheers for all we do. You are the best granparents ever and we're so blessed to have you in our lives (and documenting all the things we're too busy to write down!) Love you tons!

I think I just have to say ditto to what Kristine said. That was a fun post, lots of fun happenings. Just wish the Hansens were in on it and lived a little closer. Love you MOM!
